Alejandro Cobalto (1990, Pereira, Colombia) is a Q Arabica Grader and explores the relationship between coffee, sensory perception, and image. Influenced by Yves Klein’s monochromatic approach and Jean Lenoir’s olfactory structure (Le Nez du Café), he delves into coffee processes through visual compositions that challenge perception and stimulate the senses.

From fermentation and drying to roasting, each stage reveals shapes, contrasts, and textures that emerge throughout coffee’s transformation. Through photography, he captures fleeting moments that evoke abstract landscapes, turning each image into a testament of change and evolution. In exhibitions, image and coffee tasting intertwine, inviting spectators into a sensory experience that goes beyond taste and aroma.

Combia Mountain Coffee materializes this exploration in single-origin coffees named after his grandparents, Olga,Aurelio, Tulia, Alcides and his parents, Dalí and Delio. Each profile expresses the terroir and process of each lot, becoming a sensory tribute to his family history. The packaging, adorned with graphic elements inspired by flowers, enhances the connection between coffee and artistry.

From the farm in the Serranía del Alto del Nudo, the integration of art and regeneration takes shape through the planting of native trees. This act, beyond restoring the landscape, redefines his creative practice: each image, each cup, and each tree form part of a cycle where tradition and exploration meet.

This approach opens new ways of experiencing coffee culture, expanding its boundaries into territories of visual and sensory perception.
